ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS COORDINATOR

  Salary Grade 69 - Salary Range$ 41,770 - $64,744   


General Statement of Duties: 

This position is advanced professional environmental health work coordinating Anson County’s environmental health program and promoting public health through developing and implementing programs of education, surveillance, consultation, inspection and enforcement of state, local and federal environmental health laws and regulations.  Work in this position is characterized by a combination of direct service in basic environmental health programs with the additional responsibility of planning for an overall environmental health program.  This employee provides supervision of other environmental health staff. 

Minimum Training & Experience:

Minimum of two years of experience as an Environmental Health Specialist in a local health department or a related setting. 

Additional Training and Experience:
Registered as an Environmental Health Specialist by the North Carolina State Board of Environmental Health Specialist Examiners; Authorization in On-Site Wastewater required; additional environmental health authorizations by NC DEH; valid North Carolina driver’s license
Additional Requirements:
Valid NC driver’s license. Drug screen and background check required. All employees are E-Verified.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
